Andrew E. Chabak Sr. Korean War veteran, retired letter carrier, and dance band leader, of Linden, 85 Andrew E. Chabak Sr., 85, a lifelong Linden, N.J., resident, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, April 11, 2018. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Saturday April 14, 2018, at 9 a.m. from the Leonard-Lee Funeral Home, 301 E. Blancke St., Linden, N.J. The Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Elizabeth Church, Linden, at 10 a.m. Interment is in Rosedale Memorial Park. Visiting hours are on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Andrew worked for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for 33 years before he retired in 1992. After he retired, he worked part time for ELF Lubricants in Linden for many years. He also had a dance band named Andy Chabak and his Orchestra for many years and was an avid Yankee fan and also loved his trips to Atlantic City and the race track. Andy was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Andy was the loving husband of 61 years to Anna Karaman Chabak; loving father to Andrew E. Jr., Robert Sr. and his wife, Lisa, Nancy Chabak, and Joanne Goncalves and her husband, Jack; cherished grandfather to Christopher Goncalves and his wife, Erika, Robert Jr., Nicole, Christina and Annie Chabak.
