September 11 1928 - March 28 2018 Akrevoe Kondopria Emmanouilides passed away at her home in Rolling Hills Estates on March 28 2018 with family by her side. Born in Philadelphia on September 11 1928 to Greek immigrant parents she graduated as valedictorian from high school at age 16 and shortly thereafter served as a secretary on the ENIAC project-the first electronic computer. After meeting her husband George she spent the majority of her life in Southern California where she dedicated herself to family friends and the Hellenic-American community. Akrevoe served as the first woman Parish Council President of St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church and shared her love of food culture books and the arts with all. She was loved for her warm welcoming curious and generous spirit and was a compassionate open-hearted listener to anyone's story. Everyone she met was a friend. She was preceded in death by her husband George and is survived by her children Nicholas Elizabeth Christopher Martha and Sophia and her granddaughters Anastasia Nika Chloe and Isabella. Funeral services will be held on Monday April 2 1:00 p.m. at St. Katherine Greek Orthodox Church Redondo Beach.
