Alberta Regina Hoy Mother of 10 Alberta Regina Hoy, 94, passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018, at New Jersey Veterans Home, Edison, N.J. She is in God's loving hands. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, March 25, from 2 to 5 p.m., at Chubenko Funeral Home, 625 Port Reading Ave., Port Reading, N.J. A Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Joseph's Church in Carteret, N.J., on Monday, March 26, at 10 a.m., followed by interment at St. Gertrude's Roman Catholic Cemetery in Colonia, N.J. Alberta was raised in Jersey City, N.J., graduating from Dickinson High School in 1941. She worked for the Navy in Bayonne, N.J., during World War II. She moved to Carteret in 1958. Alberta was a member of St. Joseph's Church for 60 years. She enjoyed bingo, Atlantic City, and mostly she enjoyed just being with her husband and family. Alberta was adored by everyone. She was a loving and wonderful lady who made everyone feel cherished and special. She was predeceased by her parents, Fredrick and Florence Blackshaw; her husband of 69 years, William Hoy Sr.; her son, William Hoy Jr., and six siblings. She is survived by her sister, Audrey Devlin, and nine of her 10 children, Kathleen Rutsky (Walter), Marilyn Sundquist (Vic), Sharon Borcsak (Rich), Elaine Mohrmmann (Rick), Lorraine Hoy, Richard, Patricia McElroy (Kyle), Regina (Tim Peer) and Michelle Feeney (Paul). She was a devoted grandmother to 18 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
