GARDNER, ALAN was born on February 24, 1940 and died peacefully on Friday, October 6, 2017. He is survived by Sona, his loving wife of 52 years; their children Ken Gardner (Erica) and Holly Dawsey (Craig); and four adoring grandchildren, Ayla, Cobi, Reece and AJ. Alan will also be mourned by eight nieces and nephews, and nine great-nieces and nephews. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia and got his MBA from Adelphi University. Alan was the owner of Creative Financial Management, an insurance agency. He derived joy from time spent with his family, and from putting a smile on other's faces through his poetry and zany wit. A memorial service will be held Monday at 1:45 at Temple Judea and the internment will be at Lakeside Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Temple Judea.
