Annette Isabel Blennerhassett1916 ~ 2017Annette Isabel Hartje Blennerhassett passed away peacefully, with her daughter by her side on Friday, September 15, 2017, she was 101 years old.

She was born July 14, 1916 in San Francisco, the tenth of twelve children. She grew up in the Excelsior District and attended Monroe Elementary and Balboa High School. Nita married Phillip R. Blennerhassett in 1937 and lived in the Crocker Amazon neighborhood.

Nita was preceded in death by her parents Marie and Dietrich Hartje, her husband of 56 years, Phillip and was the last survivor of all her siblings and their spouses: August Hartje, Henry Hartje (Otilia), Richard Hartje (Geneveave), Hedwig Trade (Casper), Herman Hartje (Louise), Theodore Hartje (Ann), Augusta Aprile (Sam), Fred Hartje (Dorothy), Christian Hartje (Living-Grace Anderson), Walter Hartje,(Dorothy), Reginald Hartje (IdaMae).

She is survived by her two children, Shirley Angeloni (William C.) and Robert Blennerhassett (Claudia). Nita was Grandmother to the loves of her life William D. Angeloni (Pat) and Christina Sanders (Doug) and a Proud Great-Grandmother to her greatest treasures Ellen Angeloni, Ryan Angeloni, Wyatt Sanders, Josh Sanders and Nate Sanders.

Nita loved to sew, do needlework and cook all taught to her by her mother, she also loved to read, she said it took her places she probably would never see.

Above everything else, family was the most important part of her life. She was a wonderful mother, strict but kind and supportive and always there with hugs and kisses. Her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren were the love of her life, she always said, I hope to still be here to see them grow up…and she did.

Family and Friends may visit Duggan's Serra Mortuary, 500 Westlake Avenue, Daly City on Saturday, September 23rd from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Celebration of Life from 11:00 to 12:00, Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Chapel, Reception immediately following service.

In place of flowers, a donation to in Nita's name would be appreciated.
