GREENWALD Alan F. Greenwald It is with great sorrow that our family announces the loss of Alan F. Greenwald on August 31, 2017. Alan was the beloved husband of Lynne and loving father of Hillary and Allison. Alan died surrounded by his family and close friends after three and a half years of living with and fighting pancreatic cancer. Alan graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, where he received his BA, JD and MA in City and Regional Planning. After graduation, Alan practiced law with Brobeck, Phleger and Harrison, where he met and fell in love with his wife Lynne. He left Brobeck to engage in a long and successful career in real estate, focused on multi-family and affordable housing, including as President and CEO of the AF Evans Company in the Bay Area, Director of . Multifamily Structured Transactions for Fannie Mae in Washington, DC, and Vice President at Oxford Realty Services Corporation Alan joined Terra Search Partners in 2011, a boutique executive recruiting firm, where he helped build and lead the firm's work in affordable housing and community development. He helped dozens of companies in the low-income housing sector. He was devoted to this work until his death. Alan's professional skills and passion fueled his commitment to his community. He was a founding member and Treasurer of Community Council for the Homeless at Friendship Place and a board member of the Community Housing Trust, which owns and provides rental housing for formerly homeless citizens of Northwest Washington, DC. In addition to his wife and daughters, Alan is survived by his niece, Dana in Santa Ana, CA, and the Feldberg Grove family in Capitola, CA. He will be remembered for his deep love of family and friends on both coasts, who will miss his wisdom and warmth, for his integrity and dedication to making the government and private sector work for the less privileged, and for his devotion to food, cooking, and his 6 day a week workout routine! A celebration of Alan's life will be held at St Columba's church in Washington, DC on September 29 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to PANCAN, the Pancreatic Action Network, www.PANCAN.org[pancan.org], Mercy Housing, www.mercyhousing.org[mercyhousing.org], or Friendship Place www.friendshipplace.org.A celebration of Alan's life will be held at St Columba's church in Washington, DC on September 29 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to PANCAN, the Pancreatic Action Network, www.PANCAN.org[pancan.org], Mercy Housing, www.mercyhousing.org[mercyhousing.org], or Friendship Place www.friendshipplace.org.
