Agnes Altomonte Ferrara Owned Jersey City travel agency; Mass is Monday Agnes Altomonte Ferrara, 90, a lifelong resident of Jersey City, N.J., passed away on Sept. 5, 2017. Visitation is on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Riotto Funeral Home & Cremation Company, 3205 John F. Kennedy Blvd., Jersey City 07306 (riottofh.com). The funeral will begin at the funeral home on Monday, Sept. 11, at 9:30 a.m. The Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Anne's Church, Jersey City. Entombment is at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington, N.J. Agnes was the proprietor of Altomonte Travel Agency in Jersey City, a family-run business for over 100 years, along with her sisters, the late Vincenza Aiello and the late Josephine Tornabe. A parishioner of Holy Rosary Church and St. Anne's Church in Jersey City, Agnes was a longtime member of the Holy Rosary Society, Padre Pio prayer group, and the Italian Dante Alighieri Cultural Society. She enjoyed cooking, baking, making curtains, dresses, crocheting, and "handwriting analysis." Agnes loved life and will be missed. Agnes was the beloved wife of the late Frank Ferrara Sr., devoted mother of Pascal "Pat," Joseph, Frank Jr., Karen, and Joan. She is also survived by eight loving grandchildren and one cherished great-granddaughter. In lieu of flowers, make donations to NJ Alzheimer's (alznj.org).
