We get no choice. If we love, we grieve . Trixie passed away on March 27, 2017, with her family by her side.Predeceased by her husband William J. (Bill), she is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Mencarini and son, David Lynch of Annapolis, MD. As one of five sisters and five brothers, she leaves generations of nieces and nephews and many close friends.Trixie born in Auburn, MA, married Bill Lynch in 1949 and began the nomadic life of a United States Air Force family. Stationed around the U.S. and Japan they settled in the Washington area in 1963. Trixie traveled with her husband, then working for British Aerospace, to many places in the U.S., Central America, the Caribbean, and Europe. She hosted British Aerospace summer interns, traveled with Elder Hostel groups and worked at public libraries in Maryland and Virginia. She was kind, gentle and fiercely loyal to family and friends. She leaves many friends and neighbors at the Wildewood Retirement Center in California Maryland where she lived independently until shortly before her death. She was an avid reader and loved nature.Services will be held On September 13, 1 p.m. at Arlington National Cemetery Old Post Chapel where she will join her husband inurned at the columbarium. Please consider in lieu of flowers, donations to the Hospice of the Chesapeake and to animal welfare charities.
