Alan Carl Egan

Faleceu

1946 ~ 2017
Alan Carl Egan, faithful son, dear brother, uncle and friend passed away on September 3, 2017. He was born in Salt Lake City on September 28, 1946 to Carl Hatch and Aulene Cushing Egan. He lived in Bountiful, Utah his whole life except for the two years he served for the in the Alaskan, Canadian mission. Where he shared his love for Jesus Christ.
As a young high school student he worked side by side with his father in his service station, pumping gas and repairing cars. It's where his love of cars began, especially Corvettes.
In September of 1968 he suffered a motorcycle accident that changed his life. He was unconscious for three months. It left him paralyzed on his right side and unable to speak. He worked hard but couldn't water ski, drive cars, continue his college education, and do many other favorite things. He never asked "why me" or about his limitations. He has an amazing attitude and was always grateful for the life he was given. He was an amazing example to all of us.
He enjoyed traveling with mom and dad especially those Saturday "rides." After dad passed away in 2002 he has been a best friend and loving companion to Mom. As mom got older she would drive and Alan would navigate.
After his accident he worked at the University of Utah Hospital for 25 years taking patients from their rooms to therapy. He made many friends on the bus and patients still remember him. As a red head he was a real firecracker. He was mischievous and had a fun sense of humor. His favorite words were: "Thank You." A special thank you to the Bountiful 41st Ward for your loving kindness to Alan.
Alan is survived by his sweet mother Aulene, Steve and Linda Egan Mangel and family and John and Trish Egan and family.
