Anita J. Cross Loving mother and aunt Anita J. Cross, 92, of Union, N.J., passed away peacefully on Aug. 19, 2017 at home with her family by her side. She was born in Newark, N.J., and was a resident of Union for 51 years. Visitation will be on Monday, Aug. 21, from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCracken Funeral Home 1500 Morris Ave., Union. A funeral service will take place on Aug. 22 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by entombment at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union. Anita was the homemaker and the keeper of the household. She was also a parishioner of St. Theresa's Church in Kenilworth, N.J. She had a very big heart for children, and she would often find herself taking care of the neighborhood kids. Beloved wife of the late Robert V. Cross, she was the loving mother of James Cross and the late Robin Cross; dear aunt of Mark Claps and Janine Gallo and husband Michael, and their children, Alison, Nicholas and Matthew; adoring great-aunt of Vivian, Emma and Zoey.
