Anna E. Blocker Retired assistant nurse at Essex County Hospital Anna E. Blocker, 91, of Newark, N.J., departed this life on Aug. 11, 2017. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, Aug. 19, 2017, at 1 p.m., at the Roseville Presbyterian Church, 36 Roseville Ave., Newark, N.J., Rev. Danny Mitchell, pastor. Visitation is Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services, at the church. Arrangements are in the loving care of the Nesbitt Funeral Home, 165 Madison Ave., Elizabeth, N.J. Born in New Bern, N.C., Anna relocated to Newark, N.J., many years ago. Anna was employed by Essex County Hospital, Cedar Grove, N.J., as an assistant nurse, where she worked for over 30 years and retired. She leaves to cherish her memories her two daughters, Carolyn Eagle and Jacqueline Blocker: grand-children, Lisa Hanks, Mark and Michelle Eagle; great-grandchildren, Dashawn Eagle, Ashmere Wilson, Shannon Hanks, and Deonte Jackson; great-great-grandchild, Quincey Eagle; two brothers, Benjamin Beasley, David Beasley; and one sister, Margaret Crawford, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
