Antonio Jose Amaral Concrete contractor, native of Portugal who lived in Ironbound and Montville Antonio Jose Amaral, 85, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend the funeral on Wednesday, Aug. 16, at 8:30 a.m. at the Buyus Funeral Home, 426 Lafayette St. at Wilson Ave., Newark, N.J., thence to Our Lady of Fatima Church in Newark where, at 9:30 a.m., the Funeral Mass will be offered. Entombment will be at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum in North Arlington, N.J. Visitation is on Tuesday, Aug. 15, from 5 to 9 p.m. Please visit buyusfuneralhome.com. Antonio was born on April 26, 1932, in Sao Miguel, Azores Islands, Portugal. He came to the United States in 1960 and resided in the Ironbound section of Newark, N.J., before moving to Montville, N.J., in 1987. He worked in construction and then founded the Cedar Concrete Construction Company in 1968, which he owned with his son, Carlos. Antonio was a member of the Club Acores in Newark and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church, also of Newark, where he was involved in several organizations. He is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Armanda. He was the devoted and loving father to Tony and his wife, Isabel, and Carlos and his wife, Katia; cherished grandfather to Lauren and her husband, Jon, Matthew and his wife, Sylvia, Kylie, and Carter, and dear brother of Eduarda, Virginio, Jose, and Fernanda and the late Joao.
