COPPLE, Adah Earlene (Hogue) Flower Mound, TX -- Adah Earlene (Hogue) Copple, age 89, went home to the Lord on August 4, 2017. After a lengthy illness, Earlene passed peacefully at home. Mrs. Copple was born in the Tidal Oil Camp at Ranger, TX on January 10, 1928 to Naomi Laverne (Hinman) Hogue and Edwin Walter Hogue. Earlene's parents were transferred to Hobbs, NM where she grew up in the Tide Water Oil Company camp. She graduated from Hobbs H.S. in 1946. Earlene attended Eastern New Mexico University for two years where she was the band drum-major. Earlene later attended the University of New Mexico earning an Associate Degree. Earlene married Edwin Floyd Copple of Walnut Hill, IL on August 16, 1952 in Hobbs, NM. They had four children, all surviving her. Bruce E. Copple (Tammy) of Pearland, TX; Brenda E. Copple of Flower Mound, TX; David W. Copple (Pauline) of St. John, IN; Ginger M. Copple Herring (Rance) of Bedford, TX. Earlene was blessed with four grandchildren; Christopher S. Copple (Shelley) of Austin, TX; Julie M. Copple Venske (G. Michael) of Pearland, TX; Kelly M. Craig Taylor (Matthew) of Plainfield, IL and Kristen M. Copple of St. John, IN. Five great grandchildren carry on her legacy; Abigail E., Brody E., and Cohen E. Copple; Lillian M. and Trevor G. Venske. Earlene is survived by her sister, Evelyn Louise (Hogue) Carey of San Antonio, TX; her sister-in-law Lily Ann (Burnett) Copple of Oshkosh, WI; many cousins, nieces and nephews whom she adored. Earlene was a 28 yr resident of Highland Village, TX. Earlene joined Trietsch UMC in 1991. Earlene was a proud member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Cross Timbers Chapter. As a 6th generation Texan, Earlene was a member of Daughters of the Republic of Texas. Her maternal ancestors arrived in Texas one year before the Alamo. Earlene's kindness, encouragement, courage and faith, will be forever remembered. Her family research gave us roots. Her love gave us wings. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Trietsch United Methodist Church in Flower Mound, TX. Rev. Joe Shafer will officiate. The family will receive guests at the church beginning at 10 am. Burial will immediately follow at Flower Mound Cemetery.
