Alfred Hurtado

Faleceu

November 25, 1928 - July 20, 2017 Alfred "Al" Hurtado, 88, of Los Angeles, died in Pasadena on July 20 after a brief illness, just days short of his 62 wedding anniversary with his beloved wife, Virginia. He was the adored father of Therese Boyle, of Redondo Beach, Patricia Hurtado, of Brooklyn and John Hurtado, of Claremont, and grandfather of Laura Hurtado, Bridget and Brendan Boyle and Nicholas Guthammar. Born and raised in East LA, Al graduated from Our Lady of Mount Carmel High School and later served in the Korean War. He joined the LA Times in the 1970s where he worked as a truck driver and dispatcher for more than 20 years. He spent his retirement camping and traveling with his wife and being there for his family. A garrulous, outgoing man with a heart of gold, he will sorely be missed and never forgotten. Funeral: Fri., Aug. 4 at 10 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 1501 Fremont Ave., South Pasadena. Burial Live Oak Memorial Park, Monrovia.
