Albert Matthew Holl Army veteran, faithful Catholic, devoted to his family Albert Matthew Holl, 81, of Jackson Township, N.J., passed away peacefully at home in the loving embrace of his family on Friday, July 21, 2017. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2017, at the George S. Hassler Funeral Home, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., N.J. 08527. A funeral gathering will be offered at 8:30a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017, at the funeral home. The Funeral Liturgy will follow at 9:30 a.m. at St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church, 935 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson, N.J. Interment with military honors will follow in Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Albert was born in Jersey City, N.J., and resided in West Milford, N.J., before moving to Jackson 24 years ago. His greatest treasure was his wife, Jane, and their large family. The house was always filled with laughter and love. He enjoyed writing and had a novel and short story collections published. He was an avid reader and especially enjoyed histories of the Civil War and World War II. Albert graduated from Seton Hall University with a bachelor's degree and from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a master's degree. Albert began his professional career at RCA, retiring as director of cost accounting at Ciba-Geigy Corporation. He also worked for Adam Spence Corporation after his retirement. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. Albert was a faithful Catholic and communicant of St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church in Jackson. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Lillian (nee Brewer) Holl; his brothers, William Holl, Joseph Holl, and Charles J. Holl Jr., and his sisters, Margaret Keenan and Lillian Sciarra. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jane (nee Moran) Holl; daughters, Susan Koval and husband Adam, Laura Riccardi and husband Leonard; sons, Albert J. Holl, Christopher Holl and wife Gina; daughter, Janet Madigan and husband David; sister, Cathy Jursik; 15 grandchildren, Carmella Sobieski, Jane Riccardi, Maryann Riccardi, Christina Holl, Peter Riccardi, David Madigan, Teresa Holl, Nicholas Riccardi, Joseph Madigan, Dominic Madigan, Andrew Madigan, Christopher Holl, Maria Madigan, Mia Holl, Joshua Holl, and many nieces and nephews.
