Afton Allen England born July 28, 1923, passed from this life July 18, 2017, ten days before her 94th birthday, at her home in Murray, Utah.
She was the 5th child and only girl born to William Berry and Rebecca May Roundy Allen in Benson, Utah.
Afton lived a full life. Shortly after WWII she was called to serve an LDS mission in the Western States Mission serving as the Secretary to the Mission President.
After her mission she married Glade E. England on February 14, 1950 in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of six children, 23 grandchildren, and "grandma great" to 33 great-grandchildren.
Afton was a secretary by trade and attended LDS Business College. She worked for Whitmore Oxygen, ZCMI and 17 years for LDS Church Education System.
After Dad and Mom retired, they served missions together in the California Oakland Mission, California Los Angeles Mission, and the Salt Lake City Mission with the Native Americans. After their missionary service, they served as temple workers at the Jordan River Temple.
Mom's example of love, charity, knowledge, humor and absolute faith in Jesus Christ will be treasured forever.
Afton is survived by her children, Coleen (Denny) Stutznegger, JoDean (Stan) Wright, Allen (Jolene) England, James (Janice) England, Gordon (Lori) England and Jan (Derek) Christensen. Brother Ross (Maurine) Allen.
Memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at 10 a.m. at the Salt Lake Cottonwood Stake Center, 6400 S. 1830 E. Friends and family may call Tuesday evening, July 25th from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 So State Street. Interment: Wednesday, July 26th at 11 a.m. at Elysian Burial Gardens.
