April 30, 1939 - May 24, 2017 Adrienne Filer of Thousand Oaks, CA, 78, formerly of North Hollywood, passed away in her sleep due to complications from multiple myeloma cancer. Adrienne was the 2nd child born to Joseph and Laura Simon on April 30, 1939 in Los Angeles. She graduated from Whittier High School in 1957 and worked as a stewardess for Western Airlines. In August of 1963, she married Armand Jay Filer, originally from Dewitt, Iowa. Beloved husband to Armand of 53 years. Devoted mother to her son Kirk Filer. Loving daughter to her late mother Laura Shankman Simon, and late father Joseph Simon. Dearest sister to her brothers Alan Jan Nelson, the late Steve Nelson, and the late Gary Nelson. Those that knew her would agree she was the most unselflish person they had ever met. Adrienne was a truly humble, nurturing soul, who always put caring for others first, often at the expense of denying herself. She was an avid cook and was truly cherished for her festive dinners and desserts. She is survived by her husband Armand and son Kirk. Adrienne will be deeply missed by her friends and family. Graveside services will be held on Monday, June 5th, 2017 @ 12:30 pm at Mount Sinai Memorial Park & Mortuary in Simi Valley, CA. For info, call 800-600-0076.
