Alice Anne Sysko Union resident, enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening Alice Anne Sysko (nee Rakoczy), 90, of Union, N.J., passed away on May 22, 2017, at home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017, at 10:15 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 1212 Kelly Street, Union. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, N.J. There will be a visitation on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bradley, Haeberle & Barth Funeral Home, 1100 Pine Ave., Union. Williamsons during the war, and was also employed for many years at Revlon, Acme and Food Town Markets before retiring in 1989. She was a Eucharistic minister at Christ the King Church in Hillside, N.J., and a member of the choir at St Stanislaus Church in Newark, N.J. She enjoyed dancing, and was a volunteer at the USO Dances during World War II. Alice also loved cooking, baking, gardening, and in her later years she took great interest in artwork. Alice was born on July 26, 1926, in Dickson City, Pa., to Anthony and Francis (Metz) Rakoczy. She moved to Newark, N.J., in 1941, and married Edwin Sysko, to whom she was married for 40 years until his death in 1991. Alice is survived by her sons, Leonard and Raymond Sysko; and many nieces nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her eight brothers and sisters, Louis, Walter, Edmund, John and Leonard Rakoczy and Helen Soliwoda, Irene Interdonato, and Pearl Heath.
