Agostino A. 'Nino' Petrillo Livingston family man, master mechanic on foreign cars, followed the Formula One race car circuit, 80 Agostino A. "Nino" Petrillo, 80, died early Monday morning, May 22, 2017, at St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, N.J. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell, N.J., on Thursday, May 25, from 4 to 8 p.m. A Mass will be offered at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Orange, N.J., on Friday, May 26, 2017, at 10 a.m. followed by the entombment at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum in East Hanover, N.J. Mr. Petrillo is survived by his wife of 60 years, Giuseppina (Capozzi); daughters, Elvira Petrillo, Domenica (Richard) Conforti, Carmen (Gregory) Carrino; and son, Nino Jr. (Julie Ann) Petrillo. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Maria, Theo, Austin, Angela, Rich, Vincent, Joseph, Nina, Anthony and Michael; great-grandchildren, Delaney, Cooper, and Phillip Jr.; loving brother, Mario (Agnese) Petrillo; sisters, Alfonsina Trasente, Maria Mauriello; nephew, Amato Petrillo; brother-in-law, Domenic Capozzi, and countless lifelong friends. Born in Prata, Avellino, Italy, in 1936, Nino moved to Orange, N.J., in 1960, where he lived and began to raise his family until he moved to Livingston, N.J., in 1975, where he spent the remainder of his life. A master skilled foreign car mechanic, Nino had the rare opportunity of doing what he loved for his work as he owned and operated Nino's Foreign Car Repair, as well as NMR, Inc.He was a Formula One race enthusiast, spending much of his life traveling the world befriending drivers, celebrities, and fellow race enthusiasts alike. Nino would often stay up into the wee hours of the morning to watch each and every race on the Formula One circuit. When Nino wasn't dedicating his free time to watching one of his grandchildren's sporting events, dance recitals or other activities, he could be found in his backyard enjoying a cigar while he proudly and meticulously tended to an impressive collection of fruit trees, grape vines, and vegetable and flower gardens. Nino had a quick wit that endeared him to all those who got the pleasure of interacting with him. Lastly and most importantly, he was an extremely devoted husband, tending to his wife's daily care, as well as a loyal and kind person who carried himself with a welcoming and disarming presence. He was always ready to help anyone in need, opening his home to all, whether it was a friend of 60 years or a newfound acquaintance. His generosity knew no bounds and set a great example for all those who were lucky enough to get to know him. He will be deeply missed.
