Antonie 'Toni' Bachmeier German-born wife, mother, and grandmother, of Mountainside, 'beloved by many' Antonie (Toni) Bachmeier, 94, of Mountainside, N.J., passed away peacefully on May 7, 2017. There will be a memorial Mass at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 22, 2017, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Mountainside, N.J., followed by a private burial. Born in Wasserburg, Germany, Toni earned her degree in early childhood education before moving to the United States. Toni worked for many years as an aide for the Mountainside school system, the Mountainside Children's Hospital, and West Lake School in Westfield, N.J. She was a longtime and devout parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Mountainside, N.J., and was a member of the Senior Citizen Club of Mountainside and Senior Citizens Club of Berkeley Heights, N.J. Toni was beloved by many, and in turn she cherished her family and friends. Toni enjoyed baking, especially the many incredible Christmas cookies that she gave out to her family and friends. Toni also enjoyed knitting, sewing, drawing, art, bingo, attending the many social clubs that she belonged to, attending Sunday Mass, and being with her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Rudolph, and her daughter, Denise Chase. Toni is survived by her daughters, Ingrid Alboum (Stuart) of Far Hills, N.J., and Irene Gregg (Larry) of Grand Prairie, Texas; her four grandchildren, and her two great-grandsons.
