BARBARA JEAN STUCHBERY  (Age 68)  (nee Twombly)  
Of Silver Spring, MD passed away on April 5, 2017 at home from complications from peritineal and ovarian cancer. She is survived by her beloved husband Bill; her four stepchildren, William Jr., Sandra, Kathleen and Bernadette; six step-grandchildren, Alyssa, Zachary, Paige, Alayna, Christopher and Colleen, as well as sister Nancy Browning and brother-in-law Perry Browning of Cabot, VT, sister Carol Hill and brother-in-law Robert Hill of Keene, NH, eight nieces and nephews, as well as other relatives and many dear friends. Barbara received a degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland. She went on to a career as a contracting officer and program officer with numerous Federal agencies. She took early retirement from the Administration for Children and Families, HHS, in 2002 in order to enjoy leisure time and occasional travel with her husband and friends. Barbara was thankful to live in exciting times. She came of age in the 60's, when "the times they were a'changin'" for sure. She was thrilled to live long enough to see Bob Dylan awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature, and to place her ballot for the first female presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton. Barbara was grateful to live a full and happy life, shared with loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Lee Twombly and Hannah Marie Twombly. She will be deeply missed by her beloved cats, Dil and Molly. Services at the Leisure World Interfaith Chapel, 3680 S, Leisure World Blvd., Silver Spring, MD 20906, on Saturday, May 20 at 1:30 p.m., following the services, a burial service at Parklawn Memorial Park.
