In Loving Memory of "Our Mother, Alta"
In the afternoon of May 11, 2017 ALTA FAY McMAHAN GILBREATH, "Alta Fay," peacefully crossed the boundary of life. Alta enriched the lives of all who had the good fortune to know her, with her spirit of love, laughter and compassion. " Alta, Mother, Mom, Grandma, and Aunt Alta," as she was known to her family and countless friends, was an amazing, caring, loving person. Born in Portales, New Mexico on November 28, 1930 to Myrtle Mae Carter Dobbs and JD McMahan, she was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Dell Wayne McMahan and Michael Trapp McMahan.
Today, while saddened, our hearts are filled with gratitude for a precious lifetime of love, support and wonderful memories. Our beloved Alta will forever be remembered for the happiness she brought to so many and she will be missed by all who knew her. Leaving us here to carry on in her memory, Alta is survived by her sons: William (Bill) Meyer, and William Stavis Gilbreath (Nannette); daughters: Lynda Kay Kuenzle (Dave) and Jeana Monteau (George); grandchildren: Valarie Trevino, Chad Edward Meyer (Amy), David M. Tennison, Jr., Brandon Bates (Ashley), Blaine Monteau, and Liam Carlo, as well as 16 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Alta is also survived by her sisters, JoAnn Caldwell and Ellen McLemore (Roger) and brothers, Don McMahan (spouse Jean), Jerry Lane McMahan (Naomi) and Eugene McMahan.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday May 20, 2017, 1:30 p.m. at Brookside Funeral Home.
Love You and God Bless You, May You Rest in Peace, Mother!
