Alex G. AlvaradoAugust 3, 1938 – May 8, 2017Alex, 78, raised in Cloverdale, California, died peacefully at his home in San Bruno, on May 8, 2017. He honorably served in the United States Air Force for 6 years and worked loyally as a specialized Seamer Mechanic and Supervisor in the Canning Industry for over 36 years, most recently with Del Monte Foods.
Alex was truly a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was an athlete and lover of all sports but most especially basketball. He was also an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants and attended many games during his lifetime. He enjoyed being home, cooking special meals for his family and watching his grandkids grow up.
He is survived by his wife Juanita, married for 52 years, his two children, Kathleen and Alexander, his son in law, Steve Mankowski, his daughter in law Jeanne Creedon Alvarado, and his five granddaughters, Jackie, 18, Jenna, 17, Susie, 15, Brigette, 12 and Elena 9 ½. He is also survived by his sister Maria Alvarado Perezchica of Windsor, California.
Rosary service will be held at Garden Chapel in South San Francisco on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at 7 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Veronica's church in South San Francisco on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 10 a.m. Committal at Holy Cross Cemetery, Colma.
