Mandi is also survived by her parents; Craig Daniels and Barbara Benedict, brothers; Justin Daniels and Dereck Daniels; and fur-children (dogs) Zack, Dante and Kira.
Mandi was born in Boise, Idaho, moved to Twin Falls, Idaho, lived in Redmond, Oregon, Caldwell, Idaho and moved to the Salt Lake area 26 years ago.
Mandi passed away after a six year, three month and 12-day battle with metastatic breast cancer - each day was a gift which she lived to the fullest. She was returning from her final vacation, collapsed in the Atlanta airport and was hospitalized. She was respected and loved for her courage, strength, good cheer, wit, and unwavering friendship. She embodied the quote, "A day without laughter is a day wasted". - Charlie Chaplin
Mandi was exceptionally bright, gifted and creative. She excelled at all subjects in school, but found her passion in writing. She graduated from Viewmont High School. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of Utah in 2004. She was employed at Western Governors University (WGU) where she also completed an MBA with an emphasis in information technology management in 2009. She loved the university and continued to work as their Online Marketing Director until she had to medically retire.
She will be missed for her unmatched tenacity, sincerity and style. She fulfilled her greatest feat over the past six years as she taught us to live to the fullest. She vanquished the fear, depression, and hopelessness cancer often brings. She documented her thoughts, fears and hopes in the award-winning blog www.darngoodlemonade.com.
Mandi was her own best advocate and passionately supported cancer research. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to metastatic cancer research www.metavivor.org.
