Andrea Savignano Founder of Andrea Foods in Orange, cherished great-grandfather Andrea Savignano of Mendham, N.J., formerly of West Orange, N.J., passed away peacefully at home, with his family by his side, on April 30, 2017, at the age of 91. Visiting will be held in Paul Ippolito-Dancy Memorial, 9 Smull Ave., Caldwell, N.J., on Tuesday, May 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 3; please contact the funeral home for Mass schedule and time. Mr. Savignano was born in Pescopagano, Potenza, Italy, and lived in West Orange for many years before settling in Mendham for the past 10 years. A blacksmith by trade, he, along with his late wife, Dora, was the proud founder and owner of Andrea Foods in Orange, N.J., where his son continues to run the family business. He was also a longtime member of the Orange Elks Lodge. Andrea was the beloved husband of 57 years to the late Dorothy "Dora" Savignano (nee Valvano); loving father of Michael Savignano and his wife, Rita, Nina Savignano-Donohue and her husband, Timothy, and Rose Marie Savignano-Wilkinson and her husband, James; dear brother of Serafina Valvano and the late Pasquale Savignano, Josephine Racioppi and Rosetta Gonnella; cherished grandfather of Andrea Orlando (Joseph), Michael Savignano (Vanessa), Alison Donohue, Mary Juliet Donohue, Andi Wilkinson and Jami Wilkinson; and great-grandfather of Alex and Olivia Orlando and Mia Savignano.
