Sister Ann Carolyn Blackburn, a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur, and a native of Chicago, Illinois, died on April 10, 2017, at the age of 89 in the 72th year of her religious life. Her passing is mourned by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, and many devoted nieces, nephews and friends. Sister Ann Carolyn taught at schools in Cincinnati, Columbus and Chicago, IL, where she specialized in primary and Montessori education. Following full time education, Sister was engaged in the Foster Grandparent Program in various schools and at Children's Hospital in Cincinnati. After retiring to Mt. Notre Dame Health Center, Sister Ann Carolyn carried on an active ministry of letter writing and communication with former co-workers and students. The visitation will take place Tuesday, April 18, 2017, from 1:30-2:45 at Mount Notre Dame Health Center, 699 E. Columbia Avenue, Cincinnati, OH (513-821-7448), followed by the Mass of Christian burial and interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Retirement Fund of the Sisters of Notre Dame, 701 E. Columbia Avenue, Cincinnati OH, 45215.
