Alfred F. Grande, Jr.  Lt. Colonel, (Army Ret.)  
June 21, 1936 - March 23, 2017   Born in Dover, NJ, graduate of Blair Academy, Blairstown, NJ and Bucknell University. Commissioned as a Military Police Officer into the US Army. Served two tours in Vietnam among many other assignments. Following his retirement from the military, Al founded ASAP Printing and Mailing, Co. in Alexandria. He served on the boards of the Chamber of Commerce, the Alexandria Police Foundation, the Retired Military Police Officer's Association and many other civic organizations. He was honored as a "Living Legend of Alexandria" in 2012. He leaves a loving wife of 57 years, Claire Grande; children, Donna Grande Spann (Greg) and Dean Grande (Michelle); and a sister, Kim Rusinow. His legacy includes nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Memorial Service will be held at Greenspring Chapel, 7420 Spring Village Drive, Springfield, VA 22150 at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Benevolent Care Fund, c/o Greenspring Philanthropy, 7410 Spring Village Dr., Springfield, VA 22150.
