Alfonso 'Funzy' Noviello Business owner, WWII veteran, lifelong Linden resident Alfonso "Funzy" Noviello, 93, a lifelong Linden, N.J., resident, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 2, 2017. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral on Thursday, April 6, at 9 a.m. in the Leonard-Lee Funeral Home, 301 E. Blancke St., Linden. The Funeral Mass will be offered in St. Elizabeth Church, Linden, at 10 a.m. Interment is at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, N.J. Visiting hours are on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Please visit leonardleefuneralhome.com. Funzy was the owner of J. Noviello and Sons Mason Contractors for more than 60 years before he retired in 2003. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy (Seabee's) during World War II in the South Pacific, participating in the battles of Guadalcanal through the Philippians. He was a member the St. Elizabeth Church Guard of Honor and its Holy Name Society. He also was a Boy Scout master for Troop 32, where he started its Drum and Bugle Corps and received the Silver Beaver Award. Funzy was the loving husband of Barbara "Bobby" (McMullen) Noviello for the past 67 years; loving father to John, Al and his wife, Susan, Annmarie Gobel and her husband, Robert, and the late Theresa Harris; dear brother to Theresa Rossetti, Madeline Addalia and Anna Pantina; cherished grandfather to 12 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Elizabeth Church, 179 Hussa St., Linden, N.J. 07036 in his name would be appreciated.
