Agnes Arlene Belencan Mass is on Friday Agnes Arlene Belencan, 97, formerly of Newark, N.J., and Toms River, N.J., died on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at the Venetian Care & Rehab Center in South Amboy, N.J. A memorial Mass will be held on Friday, March 23, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church in Carteret, N.J. Private cremation and arrangements were held under the care of Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Ave., Carteret, N.J. Agnes retired from Short Hills Caterers in Millburn, N.J., as a waitress. She was predeceased by her husband, Sam; her four brothers, Vincent, Joseph, Michael, and John Semonovich, and her sister, Catherine Pozarycki. She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Searfoss and her husband, Robert, and Helen Belencan and her husband, Gary Smith; two grandchildren, Kimberley Ann Kuchma and Robert M. Searfoss and his wife, Rose, and two great-grandchildren, Kenneth Kuchma and Bryan Michael Mattos.
