ALICIA CASTRO JONES (Age 97)  
Alicia Castro Jones passed away peacefully on Friday February 24, 2017. She is survived by her daughters Alicia Jones Mendoza, wife of Walter G. Mendoza and Hortensia "Beba" Jones Ribas, wife of Jorge V. Ribas, and was preceded in death by her husband, Raul Ciro Jones and her son Raul R. Jones and by her parents Raul F. Castro and Hortensia Maria Castro de Muxo. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren Maria Cristina Mendoza Bourelly, wife of Alex Bourelly, Caroline Mendoza Horrigan, wife of Keith Horrigan, Jorge Luis Ribas, husband of Gail Ribas, Walter Raul Mendoza, husband of Kirsi Mendoza. Jacqueline Ribas Patton, wife of Donovan Patton, Michael Alexander Ribas, husband of Jennifer Ribas, and Anne-Marie Ribas Coakley, wife of Rory P. Coakley. She is also survived by her 16 great-grandchildren.Alicia was born in Cardenas, Cuba on April 13, 1919. She was married on December 20, 1940 at Santa Elvira Catholic Church in Varadero, Cuba. She arrived in this country in November of 1960 with her children, and settled in the Washington, D.C. area.Loved ones will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28 at Our Lady of Mercy, 9222 Kentsdale Drive, Potomac, MD 20854, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Little Sisters of the Poor.
