Alice passed away February 22, 2017, peacefully at her home in West Valley City. She was born March 20, 1931, in Salt Lake City, to John and Clara Elzi Ward. On March 23, 1951, she married Iven Lowell Alsop.
Alice graduated from South High School and attended the University of Utah. She worked for the Salt Lake Credit Bureau and then Pioneer Valley Hospital.
Alice loved to travel, especially to Hawaii and Tahiti. She enjoyed camping and fishing at Flaming Gorge with her beloved husband, Iven.
Alice was a kind, gentle, caring, strong, and forgiving mother and grandmother. Everyone who knew Alice felt her love and kindness.
Alice is survived by daughters, Patricia Ann Helms and Michele (Robert) Lively; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband; brothers, John, Billy, and Bobby; sisters, Dorothy, Margaret Stoker, and Joan Haynes; and grandson, Joshua Hill.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, at McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 S. Redwood Road, in Taylorsville. Viewings will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services Tuesday, both at the funeral home. Interment - Sandy City Cemetery.
