Andy Jon Cables (February 11, 1956 – January 30, 2017)
Andy Jon Cables was born in Pueblo, CO to Val Jean and Jackie Bundy Cables. He was the youngest of five and is survived by siblings Kelly, Mike, Rick and Candy. The stories of his childhood are second to none and give wonder to how successful all five siblings turned out to be. Andy graduated with an MIS degree from the University of Arizona in December 1977. Andy married his high school sweetheart Trude Lynn Myers on January 13, 1979, and they had Justin Garrett on July 15, 1983 and Leah Nichole on October 24, 1985.
Andy retired from Shell Oil Company in December 2013 after 36 years, most recently as a Global IT Project Manager. He was extremely organized and created an excel spreadsheet for just about everything (e.g. concert list, auto care, cd and record compilation, camping and hunting packing lists, etc). Andy had one of the most extensive CD and LP collections, and he loved sharing music with friends and family.
He was an avid music lover, outdoorsman, Harley owner and Dallas Cowboys fanatic. Andy cherished his annual trips to the Frio River, Harley rides with the "Bad Swallers" and his annual elk hunting trip with his brother Rick and his nephews.
Aside from his marriage and child-raising triumphs, his fondest memories include concerts in the early seventies to The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd and Alice Cooper to name a few, along with his Dallas Cowboys' five super bowl victories and his prized bull elk "Bullwinkle".
Andy is survived by his wife and two children and all four siblings.
