Alesandro Ciacciarelli Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather Alesandro "Gus" Ciacciarelli, 87, of West Caldwell, N.J., passed away on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, in Mountainside Hospital in Glen Ridge, N.J. Services will be conducted from the LaMonica Memorial Home, 145 E. Mt. Pleasant Ave., Livingston, N.J., on Friday, Feb. 3, at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Aloysius Church in Caldwell, N.J., at 10 a.m. Entombment is at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union, N.J. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Born in Newark, N.J., to the late Maria and Giacomo Ciacciarelli, Gus, as he was known by many, moved to West Caldwell in 1965. Gus and his family owned and operated the Ciacciarelli Pork Store in Newark for more than 70 years before officially closing nearly 12 years ago. He was an Army veteran who proudly served during the Korean War, and was an avid fan of both the Giants and Yankees. Gus is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 60 years, Constance (nee Baldassarre); loving children, Maria Elia and her husband, Frank; and John Ciacciarelli and his wife, Nancy; cherished grandchildren, Frank Elia and his wife, Victoria; Anthony Elia, and Catherine and Christina Ciacciarelli, and great-grandchildren, Julianne and Charles Elia. In lieu of flowers, kindly make contributions to St. Joseph's Oratory of Mount Royal, 3800 Chemin Queen Mary, Montreal, QC H3V 1H6, Canada.
