Alberta Schaefer Loving wife, mother, and grandmother Alberta Schaefer formerly of Springfield, N.J., passed away on Jan. 7, 2017. A celebration of Alberta's life will include a visitation on Wednesday, Jan. 11, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Rd., Chester, N.J. (908) 879-3090. An 12 noon Funeral Mass will follow at St. Lawrence Church in Chester, N.J. Interment will be held at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover, N.J. Most of her working career was at Shepard/Dumper Insurance of Short Hills, N.J., where she was the office manager. Alberta enjoyed the arts, especially plays, concerts, the opera, and visiting museums. She also liked to travel both across the U.S. and around the world. Alberta was a member of the Fortnightly Club of Summit, N.J., St. Rose of Lima Church in Short Hills, and the Newark Museum. She is survived by her son, Lloyd and his wife, Barbara, and her two grandchildren, Margret and Alice.
