died during the early morning of December 28th after a long struggle against cancer. Alice was 67 years old. Alice had a long and distinguished career with the United Nations, which she joined in 1974. Prior to her retirement in 2009, she was the United Nations, Chief of Protocol. Alice was born and educated in Belgium. Alice, will be remembered for her warmth and good humor as well as her qualities of intelligence, candor, dedication, and love for life, and her family. Alice is survived by her husband Mark Silver, her son Jonathan Solomons, her grandson Henry Solomons and step-children David Silver, Rachel Long and granddaughter Haleigh Huggins.
