HUNT, ANA CECILIA, 74, passed from this earth on December 31. She fought a valiant battle with cancer for more than 5 years. Cecilia was born in Colombia, live for some 20 years in Boston and another 30 years in Miami. She is survived by her loving husband, Paul, of 46 years and their two children, Adrian Hunt of Downey, CA, Juliana Schaffer, and 5 beautiful grandchildren. She will be terribly missed by her family and so many others who knew her and loved her. Cecilia spent her life trying to make life better for others and was dedicated to the education of young children. She established and directed for some 20 years Escuelita Agueybana in the South End of Boston, one of the very first truly bilingual early childhood centers. In Miami, she was the director, for more than 20 years, of the Rainbow Intergenerational Child Day Care Program at the Little Havana Activities and Nutrition Centers. She loved children and they loved her back bringing great joy to her life. A Memorial Service is planned for Wednesday, January 4 at 6pm at Stanfill Funeral Home. Instead of flowers, donations can be made to MINICOL, the mission for helping poor children in Colombia that Cecilia enthusiastically supported for many years.
