Adrienne Roy

Faleceu

Adrienne "Susie" Roy, a loving and devoted mother passed away on Monday, December 19th 2016 at the age of 78 from complications related to cancer she had beat for nearly ten years. She raised five sons: Scott, Rob, Paul, B.J. and Matthew. Susie poured her life into and will be best remembered as the greatest Mom - to her family and to the many friends of the family who were graced with her warm affection, funny and sometimes sardonic wit and a hot cooked meal to anyone who walked through her always open door in Arcadia; for 43 years the Roy house was a celebration of friends, family and a few animals. In 1955 Susie moved from Buffalo, NY to Los Gatos, Ca where she soon met her lifetime husband, Bill, to whom she was married for 55 years. Bill died in 2013. Susie or simply Mrs. Roy to many took great interest in people's lives and their families whether you knew her for many years or simply met her for the first time during one of her signature walks through Sierra Madre or the Arboretum. She had friends everywhere she went and everyone who knew her was given a special nickname by which she will be remembered for many generations to come. Along with her sons Scott, Rob, Paul, B.J. and Matthew, Susie is survived by her brother George "Tim" Ireland and sister, Bonnie Waters and their respective families, her son's spouses Lisa, Pam and Wynn and by her grandchildren Samantha, Hayley, Emily, Rachel, McCall, Allison and Kyle. Susie loved life all the way up to her last day this past Sunday when she was surrounded by all her family running through old scrap books, reminiscing about her past and making us all laugh. We love her and will miss her dearly. A memorial service will be held at Saint Rita's church at 318 Baldwin Ave in Sierra Madre on December 26th at 12 noon. A reception at the Roy house will follow.
