Albert Bernard Berkowitz Navy veteran, sales professional, kibitzer, of Linden, 82 Albert "Al" Bernard Berkowitz, 82, passed away peacefully at his home in Linden, N.J., on Monday, Dec. 12, 2016. Friends and relatives are kindly invited to attend the funeral service in the Werson Funeral Home, 635 North Wood Ave., Linden, on Friday, Dec. 16, at 12 noon. Interment will be at Hollywood Memorial Park in Union, N.J. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. To leave online condolences please visit wersonfuneralhome.com. Al was the son of Max and Rose Berkowitz of Roselle, N.J. He traveled the world in the US Navy, and met Kathy in Virginia Beach. After they were married, they lived on Bracken Avenue in Pittsburgh for awhile, until eventually settling in Linden, N.J., to raise their family. Al worked in sales at various companies, including Gestetner, Boyle Midway, and American Home Products. Al enjoyed kibitzing with friends, fishing, and watching the local sports teams, especially when smoking a nice cigar. Al is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Kathleen (Williamson) Berkowitz; his loving daughters, Lisa Hornby and her husband, Derek, Carole Berkowitz, and Erica Stevens and her husband, Peter; his dear sister, Annabelle Dubeau, and two precious grandchildren, Riley and Ethan. In lieu of flowers, donations to Angel Paws, 490 Inman Ave., Colonia, N.J. 07067 in his memory would be appreciated.
