Faleceu

Barbara Cozzi (nee Scully) passed away on Saturday, December 3, 2016 at home with family by her side. "Grandma Barbie", a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend, was born in Chicago on March 11, 1948 to Nicholas and Bernice (Doolan) Scully and graduated from Bogan High School. She grew up on the city's south side, in a family that traces its roots in Chicago to the 1870s. A resident of the Lakeview neighborhood for more than 40 years, she was a dedicated volunteer at her children's schools, and strove to make the community a nicer, safer place to live and work. In the 1970s, an interest in sewing led her to take a quilting class, which later turned into a part time job at a neighborhood quilt shop. After raising her children, Barbara embarked on a career in retail management that took her from Chicago to Washington, DC, as well as Greenville, Portland and Indianapolis. She held positions from Assistant Manager to National VP of Store Operations with companies including Laura Ashley, Sheridan, Pacific Linen and Mikasa. She retired to return to Chicago and become a full-time grandmother upon the birth of her first grandchild. Barbara is survived by her sons, Vince (Maureen Rogan) of Chicago and Tony (Liz) of Tucson, Arizona; her grandchildren Aidan, Evan, Cameron and Emma; her sister Sue (Peter) Dennis; her brothers John (Pat) Scully, Nick (Patty) Scully, Bob Scully, Tom (Theresa) Scully, and Bill (Tami) Scully; her uncle Gene Doolan; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. A private burial will be held at Graceland Cemetery in Chicago. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial gift to: The Robert H.
