September 24, 1936 - December 3, 2016 Alan Gerald Chapin, 80, passed away on December 3 in Los Angeles. Alan was born in Buffalo, New York to Wolf and Myrtle (Rose) Chapin on September 24, 1936 and was raised in Los Angeles. He served in the United States Armed Forces in Korea. He was passionate about real estate and worked until his passing. He enjoyed history, current events, classic films, photography, reading, travel, and his pets. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He had a loving and generous heart, and was always giving to others. Alan is survived by his wife, Juana, children, Steven Chapin and his wife Kristin, Sabrina Chapin, and Heather (Chapin) Crowley and her husband Ken, stepchildren, Cynthia Causillas, Giuliana (Causillas) Rodriguez and her husband Robert, Aldo Causillas, and beloved grandchildren.  He is also survived by former spouse and longtime friend Lillian Chapin. He was laid to rest at Mount Sinai Hollywood Hills on 12/7. Memorial donations may be made to Santa Monica College Veterans Resource Center where a scholarship has been created in Alan's honor or Hamilton High School Alumni Association.
