Anne L. Gaus
Loving matriarch and longtime Bernardsville resident
Anne L. Gaus' soul took flight early Christmas morning, 2019. Her thoughtfulness, warmth and compassionate advice will be sorely missed by her four children, Robert (Syracuse, N.Y.), Gilbert (Lake Tahoe, Calif.), David (St. Petersburg, Fla.) and Jennifer (Dover, N.J.), along with their spouses and children, Nancy, Ryan, Maggie, Michelle, Annalin, Nicole, Danielle, Davis, Nick, and Jacob.
Anne was predeceased by her mother, Aline Parr; stepfather, Walter Parr; brother, Dr. James L. Parr; and husband, David S. Gaus, Esq.
Anne lived with unwavering dignity, honesty, generosity, kindness, and humor. She had incredible energy, understanding and love for her family while still making time for her many friends, interests, and activities, such as serving on the board of the Somerset Hills YMCA and as secretary of the board for six years; Peapack-Gladstone PTO (co-president); secretary of the Junior Women's Club; host family for Fresh Air Fund children, Elizabethport Presbyterian Church Program and also for the Rotary Visiting Foreign Student Program; ordained deacon, deacon moderator and tutor for the SCEEP (Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church); volunteer for the N.J. Conservation Foundation, Nature Conservancy and the Morris County Parks; volunteer for God's Co-op Pantry in Bernardsville; and dancing in and designing costumes for local theater productions for several years.
Anne graduated from Bernards High School and attended Vermont College in Montpelier, Vt. For many years, she was employed at the Bedminster School in Bedminster, N.J.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, Jan. 11, at 11 a.m., at the Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church.
