Beloved mother; retired high school teacher
Annie O. Grant made her transition on Nov. 7, 2019. She was a retired teacher at Clifford J. Scott High School, East Orange, N.J.
She was the beloved mother of Diane Hayes (Tom), Denise Abdul-Haqq (Ibrahim), Gretchen Williams, Betty Grant-Jackson (Reggie) and the late Gerald Grant. She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Annie Hayes, dear sister of Fontaine Henry, Bernice Gudger and Vera Fennell. She is also survived by five grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild and a host of relatives and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, 66 Davenport Ave., Newark, N.J. Interment is at Rosehill Cemetery, Linden, N.J. Visitation is Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Whigham Funeral Home, 580 Dr. MLK Jr. Blvd., Newark.
