Financial executive active in education and community
On Dec. 5, 2019, Bobbie Beriont, 59, of Holland Township, N.J., and Beach Haven, N.J., passed away gently at her home in Holland Township.
Bobbie was born Aug. 17, 1960, in New Brunswick, N.J. She graduated from Rider College, magna cum laude, with a degree in accounting. She worked as an international financial director for Bristol-Myers Squibb for 15 years and was a consultant for them for 10 years.
Bobbie retired from Bristol-Myers Squibb to raise her three boys, John, Spencer and Griffin. During that period, Bobbie, who was passionate about education, got actively involved in community affairs and the school board.
She was a school board member for Holland Township and also served as board president. Bobbie returned to work as a school business administrator for the Kingwood Township School District.
During her tenure in the school system, Bobbie was president of the Hunterdon County School Business Administrators Association and sat on many state educational committees specifically focusing on financing education.
Bobbie married the love of her life 32 years ago and their three sons were her pride and joy.
Family and traditions were very important to her, especially hosting 48 family members for Thanksgiving each year, the Beriont Bash in LBI, sending her husband and sons off to their Canadian fishing trips and their annual Key West trips.
She loved cooking, gardening and attending all of her sons' sporting events! She also loved dancing by the light of the moon!
Bobbie is survived by her loving husband, John; her three sons, John, Spencer and Griffin. She is also survived by her in-laws, her true family, Teresa Beriont, Drueanne Heaney, Arleen Palmberg (Bob), Daryl (Rich) Jackus, Clinton (Mary) Beriont, Trenton (Donna) Beriont and many very special nieces, nephews and good friends.
The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation Monday, Dec. 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Johnson-Walton Funeral Home, 24 Church Rd., Holland Township, NJ. Funeral services and interment will be held privately.
