1938-2019
Alicia Gay Hardin Winn was born July 26, 1938 in Childress, Texas—the youngest daughter of Orval and Mildred Hardin. In 1940 or 1941 the family moved to Forney, Texas. In 1945 the family moved to Dallas. She attended public schools in Dallas, graduating in 1956 from Woodrow Wilson High School. She received her B.B.A. from the University of North Texas and was a member of Delta Gamma Fraternity. After graduation she was employed by Shell Development Co, a subsidiary of Shell Oil. There she met the love of her life, Bill.
They were married in Dallas December 17, 1960. They spent 2 years at Ft. Sill Army base in Lawton, Oklahoma, where their older son, Mark was born. Their second son, William M. Winn, III was born in Houston August, 1966 and died shortly after his birth. Two years later, in 1968, Mitchell Hardin Winn came into their family.
Gay was active in the First United Methodist church of Sugar Land—serving as a member of the Administrative Board, Council on Ministries, Board of Directors of the School for Little Children in Sugar Land, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Secretary of a $2 million fund-raising campaign, Sunday School teacher, and a member of UMW.
Gay and Bill retired and moved to Kerrville in 1992, where she designed their new home where they have lived since then. She loved doing family history and genealogy.
At First Methodist Church of Kerrville, she served on the Board of Trustees, and was a Stephen Minister.
She joined the Republican Women of Kerr County in 2002, and served as 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Corresponding Secretary, Campaign Activities Chairman and Communications Chairman.

She is also survived by two nephews, Nick J. Morale, Jr. and Michael P. Morale. Her older sister, Marcia, passed away in 2018 in Irving, Texas.
