NIEDECKEN, JR., Ben Wesley Ben Wesley 89 of Largo, FL passed away on March 6, 2019. Ben was born in Hamlin, Texas on June 18, 1929 to the late Wes & Voleta (Bingham) Niedecken. He earned a BBA from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas in 1952. Ben served in the US Army during the Korean War and then earned a Doctor of Juris Prudence from the University of Texas Law School in 1957. During his legal career, Ben served as Jones County (TX), County Attorney; Abilene (TX) City Attorney and in-house counsel for the Dallas Independent School District from which he retired in 1992. In addition to his work, Ben enjoyed many hobbies throughout his life including playing tennis, skiing, sailing, scuba diving and cruising & traveling throughout Europe, Australia, New Zealand & Mexico as well as the United States. Ben is survived by his loving wife Pat of 67 years, their daughter Debbie (Thomas) Schalk, son Wes (Vicki) Niedecken, three grandchildren Alex Schalk, Micah Niedecken and Peri Niedecken and his brother Dan. Ben enjoyed being around his family, especially his grandchildren. In 2011, Ben and Pat moved to Largo, FL to be near their son and his family. Following Ben's death, a private memorial service was conducted by Ben's brother, Reverend Dan Niedecken of Mexia, Texas. Condolences may be offered at www.serenityfuneralhomelargo.com.
