Alphonso "Al" Howard Wingate Sr., 47, from Vallejo, Calif., formerly of Hillside, N.J., made his transition on June 25, 2019.
Al is survived by his son, Alphonso Jr. "AJ", mother, Mary Wingate, seven siblings and a host of other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Friday, July 5, from 9 to 11 a.m., services to follow immediately after at St. Paul Sound of Praise, 593 18th Ave., Newark, N.J. Interment is in Glendale Cemetery, Bloomfield, N.J.
The Alphonso Howard Wingate Trust has been established for those wishing to contribute. Services are provided by Cotton Funeral Home, 1025 Bergen Street, Newark, N.J.
