Assunta "Jennie" Fischer, 90, of Toms River, N.J., died Monday, April 1, 2019.
Jennie was born and lived most of her life in Newark, N.J., before moving to Toms River in 1998.
She was a switchboard operator for St. Mary's Hospital, Orange, and retired from ShopRite, Manchester, N.J., in 2013.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph M., and her siblings, Rose, Caroline, Mary, Joseph (Jay), Carmen and Teresa. Surviving are her son, Robert Fischer and Maureen Mahon, son, Joseph M. Fischer Jr. and his wife, Elinor, son, Kenneth Fischer and his wife, Sara, her daughter, Elizabeth Fischer Sanders, grandson, Joseph M. Fischer III, and her sister, Adele Sartin.
Visiting will be on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Quinn Hopping Funeral Home, 26 Mule Rd., Toms River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Maximilian Kolbe R.C. Church, Berkeley Township, N.J. Cremation will be private.
