Beloved 'Aunt Angie,' lived in Jersey City for most of her life
Angelina D'Elia passed away on April 11, 2019, just recently after her 95th birthday in February.
"Angie" lived an active life with her family in Jersey City, N.J., and graduated from Dickinson High School in 1940. She then worked as a secretarial helper at the Western Electric Company and for many years as a sales clerk at Sears in Union City, N.J.
Angie then served as the family caretaker for her parents. Angie, who had five brothers and sisters, is survived by her brother, Anthony D'Elia, and will be remembered as "Aunt Angie" by her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was predeceased by her sisters, Mary Ippolito and Lucy D'Elia, and brothers, Thomas and Carmine D'Elia.
For many years she would drive her green Ford to visit family and friends in Jersey City, South Plainfield, and trips to the Jersey Shore. Finally forced to stop driving, she spent her last few years happily at Chelsea Senior Living Home in Brick, N.J.
A celebration Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church, Lyndhurst, N.J., on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 12 noon. Interment is on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City. Arrangements are under the direction of Ippolito-Stellato Funeral Home, 425 Ridge Road, Lyndhurst, N.J. 07071.
